How can you change what you believe when the experiences you have had has convinced you otherwise? The simple answer to that is to create a new experience. The best way for you to get that new experience is to meditate about how you can change the way you respond to what happens. To reach your goal of happiness, you have to act as though the following statement is true: Everything that happens to me is the best possible thing that can happen to me. meditating to help turn a bad situation into something good can be as easy as: 1+ 1 = 2. All you need to know when meditating is happiness is there, waiting just for you. All you need to do is follow the formula that creates it. You have to remember also that unhappiness is also out there, waiting just for you.

 

The way you respond through meditation will determine which one you will be experiencing in your life. It is not necessary to have all the ingredients of a project in hand at the outset. They will come at the appointed time. It's only important that you move forward with the project that you have started until that appointed time comes. With the energy you create through meditation by moving forward as if you had the money to start your project, you actually put into motion a start of events that will lead you to your success.

 

Your actions create an energy that draws in the necessary ingredients of your project you have ventured into. Everything that you need for your venture is, in actuality, already out there, waiting for you. You only need to draw in what is needed. There is really nothing more to all of this other than just you remembering to keep an open mind and find that peace that is buried deep within you. 

 

The result that come with meditation that causes you to experience happiness, which then proves to you that this is how things really do work-and this leads you to soon believe that everything does indeed happen for your benefit. When you realize that is true, that is when the deep sighs of relief will come and that meditation can certainly help you see the light.

Not Attaining Spirituality Leads to Suffering of Modern Man


We have the common person who is so caught in the circle of ignorance, poverty and illiteracy that he does not have any time to learn the moralities of life. But then, how can a man know about religion, God or focus on soul when he is on an empty stomach? Yet, it is the poor who still have some vestige of humanness and goodness in them. Even today, they consider a guest as a messenger of God and treat him as such, sharing magnanimously whatever little they have. Many city dwellers must have experience to selfless concern of a poor when in trouble. There is so much wisdom in their words, though they are illiterate perhaps, struggle for survival teaches them invaluable lessons. 

 

Where will these mindless pursuit of transient think lead? With these, man cannot be happier or peaceful. Today everyone complains of degeneration of values and corruption in all lifestyles. However, nobody seems to be prepared to break away from it and make a fresh beginning. Corruption has become a chronic future of our times, so much so that pupil has started treating it as a normal future. They no longer show righteous indication against corrupt practices, fights in justice of express any shock when cruel or inhuman acts are committed against their brethren. They choose to remain apathetic or give vent to important rage in the comfort of their drawing room chairs. However, there can be no hope for man if the present trend continues and man remains insensitive to the needs of others. Unless there is a revival of spiritual and moral values, this trend will continue and man will become very shallow. 

 

Modern man has dug his own grave by rejecting the moral and spiritual values upheld in the ancient scriptures of the whole world. Bible, Adi Granth, Ramayana, Bhagavad Geeta all contain pearls of wisdom which man has disdainfully rejected. Money has become God. It is to the sound of money that man responds and not the chiming of bells in the churches, temples, etc., which were once considered the above of God. 

 

Today, Faustus has universal significance. The people of today’s age have temptations all around. Everyone falls prey to these temptations. However, it is only after a certain time passes do they realize that uselessness of these materialistic things. Due to this, people of today commit so much sin, evil and corruption. The future of humanity is really in the hands of those who can bring about a reawakening of man’s higher consciousness. 

 


Spiritual Deprivation of Modern Man and Its Consequences


Man has become too preoccupied in the pursuit of material things. Money is the end in itself and not a means to an end. This excessive urge for materialistic gains has made him ignore the spiritual and moral aspect of life. He considers them obsolete and unproductive. Today, man is motivated to do something only if he is assured of reasonable profit. He has no time or inclination to pause for some time and ask himself where it is leading him. Such is the present social environment that even a child cannot remain unaffected by it. It is so easy to console a child with a promise of a gift and divert his mind from something parents have no patience to deal with. 

 

Life has become so mechanical. A child, until he becomes an adult, is pressurized every moment to excel and become skillful so that he does not lag behind in his studies. He is not given any lesson in the art of living. The total stress is on the art of how to earn a living. Therefore, from a very tender age, young minds become warped due to the obsessive preoccupation of the adults with security. Undoubtedly, there are certain basic physical needs cannot be met without money, hence the need to prepare for a means of livelihood. However, man is not merely a creature who will be content with getting food, shelter and clothing; he was also a soul, which needs to be nurtured. 

 

Nevertheless, today it is a pity that the spiritual aspect of the personality is totally ignored. No wonder that the youth feel so restless, demoralized and disillusioned! We have already seen how the young in the Western countries are turning towards East for solace and spiritual comfort. They experience a sense of ennui and feel impatient with the preoccupation of their parents with work and money. It is largely due to the disillusionment of such people that men like Rajneesh, Mahesh Yogi, who promise salvation and spiritual regeneration, have such a large flowing but escaping from the realities of life is not the solution. 

 

The present education system and the attitude of the parents are largely responsible for the state of affairs. It is a fact that today education is important in inculcating spiritual and moral values and parents in urban areas are too preoccupied with their own lives to pay attention of the growing children. Consequently, children feel a lack of sense of direction and fall easy prey to drugs and other vices at an early age. Thus, there are many consequences if one does not attain the spiritualism right from childhood.

Yoga is a good way of meditating and simply having ample time with yourself. As a matter of fact, through yoga, one can actually speak to his or her inner self. To start with, Zohar said that spiritual intelligence is the state of having complete self-awareness. This is simply the act of being completely aware of your entire self; knowing each and every aspect of the inner and outer you in details. In addition to this, you also have to know that there is a connection between you and the entire universe. Secondly, a spiritually enlightened individual is said to be led by visions and values. This can be an incredible experience because enlightening of the soul guarantees that with the next stage things will be much better. 

 

In the final stage we have divinity whereby the religious experts in our present times assemble and combine using the very source in which individuals come from. Here we sought of have an isolation process because you no longer feel connected with your environment or the things you had a connection with earlier on. I call it sought of because it is not really a sense of isolation but rather you come into terms with reality that you are all that, you are everything.

The law of attraction in our lives has become the in thing. Everyone wants to apply this law in their everyday activity. Talking about law of attraction draws a lot of attention. Others have achieved a sense of acceptance of who they are and where they fit into the world. For many people however, the public image they portray to others may not be a true reflection of their inner feelings. Self-talk convinces many people that there is nothing good in them or their lives. This creates tension and sadness that can manifest itself in destructive ways. It can affect relationships and health if not corrected. 

 

How do people develop the negative feelings about themselves? Often, they are the result of someone we love or trust saying or doing something that makes us feel bad about ourselves. Even though what we may initially know that what we are telling ourselves is not true, over time we begin to internalize and then believe it. It begins to affect the way we think and feel about ourselves and how we appear to others.

 

Escaping the negative feelings means learning to love the unique person we are. It means learning to allow others into our lives again without fear of a repeat of the hurt or rejection. We can do this alone by consciously rejecting the inner voice and countering it with a reminder of all the blessings and successes in our life or we can do it with the help of a trusted friend or counselor. 

 

Finding the inner strength to face our negative thoughts about ourselves is the first step to discovering that we have hidden qualities and strengths we are often not aware of. It is a journey that no person will regret taking, once they embark on it.

The concept of ‘to enlighten’ is very similar to the thought of ‘turning the light on’. When we think of personal enlightenment, it is easy to think of it as a ‘turning the light on inside me’. 1.  Believe that Personal Enlightenment Is Necessary for Self-acceptance 

 

Many of us do not like, let alone love ourselves. Self-acceptance is only possible when we are comfortable with the person we are, physically, emotionally and spiritually. When we experience the ‘light bulb’ moment in our lives, we are at a turning point. We can use this moment to grow or we can choose to turn it off and retreat back into the darkness of our former selves. 

 

2.  Believe that Personal Enlightenment Is Necessary to Change Ourselves and Our World

 

Those who choose to explore personal enlightenment are usually self-empowered as they learn to recognize and then unlock the power of the person they are or would like to be. These are the Nelson Mandelas, Malcolm Xs, and Martin Luther Kings of this world. Their journey to enlightenment changed them so profoundly, it empowered them to change their world. 

 

3.  Believe that Personal Enlightenment Is a Journey, Not a Destination

 

Although we may experience a light bulb minute, this is self-awareness, it is not enlightenment. Our life is a journey of experiences and personal enlightenment enables us to make sense of those experiences as we meet them on the journey. As we apply what we lean each experience helps us understand ourselves more fully.

 

4.  Believe that Personal Enlightenment Is a Force for Good and Not Evil

 

The world is a global community and each of us is its member. As we learn about and then gradually progress to accepting ourselves, we are more likely to accept others and enjoy who they are and encourage them on their own path of enlightenment.

 

5.  Believe that Our Past Influences Do Not Control Our Future

 

As we accept that our past life influences have no control over us, we can learn from its lessons and apply them to our future. Our past often holds us captive to its mistakes. Enlightenment frees us to learn from them.

How often have you heard the old saying “I’m too busy to think?” All too often, this is true for most of us. This usually requires us taking some time each day to withdraw from the busyness around us. This has to be an intentional decision. The success of such films as “Eat, Pray, and Love” reveal that we are more in touch with our spirituality, than we are often prepared to admit to ourselves. Increasing numbers of people are deciding to take a path of spiritual discovery, exploring a side of our humanity that for many of us we have not thought much about. Yet when we do decide to accept that we are not just a physical body, we may choose to go on a path of spiritual self-discovery. Here are the three keys to creating spiritual growth that will guide that journey.

 

1.  Do not be afraid to think outside the box. Expand your mind to the unseen world.

 

This first key is self-explanatory. There can be no spiritual growth without acknowledging that there is more out there than the physical dimension of our existence. 

 

2.  Spend as much time considering how to care for yourself spiritually as you care for yourself physically.

 

We spend a lot of time and money ensuring our physical growth is healthy. We follow the latest fad diet and spend countless dollars and hours at the local gym, seeking to look our physical best. We try to choose a balanced diet and make good lifestyle choices. 

 

The second key to creating spiritual growth is to prioritize it in the choice of how we will spend our day and the things we choose to do in our day. Just as there cannot be good physical health if we do not commit to healthy living, there can be no spiritual health and growth if we do not commit to spiritual health.

 

3.  Reading about spirituality will not create spiritual growth. Healthy body growth results from exercising our bodies. Healthy spiritual growth results from exercising our spirits.

 

We have all heard the old saying “no pain, no gain” and this is equally true of spiritual growth as it is for physical and intellectual growth.

 

The final key to spiritual growth is to spend time exercising our spirit by asking ourselves the tough questions:

 

·      Why am I here?

·      Where am I going?

·      How will I get there?

 

Whether we choose a religious or other path to find the answers is a personal choice, but unless we are willing to consider these questions and what they mean to us personally, there can be no spiritual growth.
